I am excited to be the Butterfly of the Month!

I was raised in the Chicago area,  and moved to San Diego 43 years ago. I have 3 adult children,  and am married to my awesome husband Don for 2 years this August. I am a “serial entrepreneur” and one of those people who is always involved in numerous groups, activities and organizations. I love teaching art and craft classes, I do stand up comedy and am a best selling author. Painting furniture and giving it a new look and purpose is one of my passions, as are dancing and travel. Next month I will have traveled to over 70 countries.

In 2021 Don and I  decided that California no longer was a fit for us, and moved to Bradenton. Moving across the country was a daunting endeavor, to say the least! We quickly got settled, I found lots of fun furniture I painted for our home, and then prepared for our August 2021 wedding in the mid-west. As I was preparing for the wedding I wondered what I was going to do with my time when we returned from the wedding, and got down to “real life.” That is when I found out about BAGS. My first BAGS event was the August Birthday brunch, and I was immediately smitten with BAGS and everything it was about. I immediately told Glenda that I would love to help out in any way I could with BAGS! Soon after I became an event organizer for BAGS, and I have  loved every minute of the adventure!

I am the quintessential “social butterfly” and I truly don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t found BAGS right after moving here! This group of amazing women is exactly what I needed, at just the right time!

It is impossible to count how many fun-filled events I have attended and/or organized with all of the women of BAGS, but no matter how many I can fit into my life, I always have FOMO over every one that I am unable to attend! They are all so much fun! BAGS has given me the opportunity to find and experience so many places, people and things  in my new Florida “home!”

The fabulous women I have met and now call friends are the icing on the cake! I just absolutely love BAGS and the feeling of inclusiveness and adventure that the women of this group have! I am also so proud of the philanthropic work that our BAGS do, making our community an even better place!

I can never thank Glenda enough for being the brain-child behind BAGS! The incredible amount of work she has put into making BAGS the success it is, is incomprehensible! When I count my blessings, BAGS is near the very top of the list!

I look forward to many more adventures with all of you ladies, and can’t wait to meet our many future members!

Hi there,

I'm Denise and I grew up in the Dover, NH area then settled in Shrewsbury, MA in 2001 for work. I have a wonderful daughter, Talia, who is 32, just got engaged and is living with her fiancé in their remodeled farmhouse in Upton, MA.

I moved to West Bradenton in November 2021 looking for a fresh start and fell in love with the area so much that I purchased a condo. I am LLR-BSW (living life retired - but still working) at home, part time as a software developer.

The hardest thing with starting out some place new is finding new friends. I met some of the BAGS at the Bradenton Riverwalk Amphitheater concerts this spring and have been hanging out with them ever since. BAGS is the best group; kind, thoughtful and so welcoming it stills my heart!! I am having a blast and enjoying the ride. I tell everyone I know and meet about BAGS and how it has affected my life in such a positive and powerful way!

Regards,

Denise

Hi, I am Sue, one of a few here at Bags.

I moved to Florida with my husband (Mike) in 2009. My daughter (Trish) and her husband were living in Miami at the time. My daughter (Chris) and her family would visit on school breaks from Indiana. We had a fun packed year until 8/4/2010 when my husband was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. After 2 years fighting it, we lost him.

My daughter (Trish) and her husband then moved to Bradenton to be closer to me. It was great having them here, but they worked and being retired I had a lot of unfilled time. I tried joining a gym to meet friends but was not very successful.

I came across a post on Nextdoor by Nancy Armbruster and joined the FB page and watched for a while. Finally, I thought “these women seem to be having fun”. I think it was August 2021 when I decided to go to an event. It was fun so I went to another and another and was hooked!

I have met so many wonderful girls!  Truly kind, fun, and compassionate women. They have made me laugh and feel good about life again. I believe that I am a better person for knowing each and every Bag.

Thank you, Glenda for having the vision and starting this great family of Bags women! My daughter moved away about 1 1/2 years ago and I miss her, so I am moving to be close to her and my sisters. I will miss you all but I will visit!

Keep on having fun BAGS, I hope to see you at an event again soon!

What an honor and thrill it is to be selected as the BAGS Butterfly for April!!

When I moved to Florida from Ohio two years ago, I was pretty much on my own and homesick. Although I had my sister and her family, along with a couple of friends fairly close by, I still felt alone and desperately needed more camaraderie. Even trips to the grocery store tugged at my heartstrings. I would see shoppers loading their carts with items for the Super Bowl, weekend cookouts, holidays, etc., with family and friends. I felt so left out and lonely.

Then a true miracle happened. I saw a post about a new group called BAGS that was offering the very thing I needed. My thoughts echoed the same exact sentiment as several other ladies who replied to the post, saying that this group was a dream come true! Just knowing that so many others felt the same way I did lifted my spirits. I joined on the spot.

Looking back over the past two years, I can see what an amazing difference our BAGS family, and the great times we share, has made in my life. It was a total game changer for me and, as a result, my enjoyment of life here in Florida has become more than I imagined.

Thank you, Glenda, from the bottom of my heart for having the vision and determination to start this incredible organization! It has been a wonderful journey of fun and friendship so far. I look forward to more adventures and meeting many more people from this awesome group!!

Also a HUGE Thank you to all the Directors and Event Organizers. You are the very heart of BAGS and help keep the wheels in motion!

Hi, I'm Gail Yester. I spent my entire life in Connecticut until I retired and moved to Bradenton 8 years ago. Bradenton is home sweet home as my entire family now resides here and it never snows.

In my career I was a Senior Administrative Associate with both a communication and pharmaceutical company.

I volunteer once a week at Habitat for Humanity in their business office which I enjoy.

I feel Bags has saved my life. Moving away from your friends and trying to meet new people is difficult. Joining the group enabled me to meet kind and generous women who include you in everything they are doing and have made a few new friends.

I enjoy traveling, attending plays, opera, concerts and museums; and enjoy bowling and tennis.

What an honor to be elected Butterfly of the Month for February. I have been a BAGS member since October 2021, became an EO in September 2022, and the Administrative Director in January 2023.

I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Roy, since October 1986. We have a daughter and a son and 3 awesome grandsons.

I worked in Washington DC for 28 years, as an Executive Assistant to the CEO followed by Human Resource Coordinator. With a stressful job and a commute of 2+ hours each way, I was ready for retirement and a new start. I was extremely fortunate to retire at the age of 53.

Roy and I vacationed on the gulf coast a couple years before retirement and knew immediately, we wanted to retire in paradise. Our children were grown and out of the house, so as soon as the retirement date was set, we were packed and ready to go!

I am an extremely shy person, so moving down here with no family or friends, was an adjustment. I found BAGS on the Nextdoor app and after stalking the FB page for several months, I decided to go to a Meet and Greet hosted by Nancy Armbruster. She made the group sound awesome and very welcoming.

After attending several events, I signed up as an Event Organizer, and shortly afterward accepted the position of Administrative Director.

I can’t sum up in words what this group means to me. I have made many friends and love attending various events. I am proud be a part of such an awesome organization called BAGS.

BAGS changed my life! NO, seriously, it changed my life so much for the better!

Due to crazy circumstances I found myself living in a new city without my spouse or friends and then COVID lockdown started. When the world opened back up I decided I would start a mission to find friends and things to do for fun! BAGS popped up on Facebook and the rest is history!

I took a chance. We all know it's not easy attending events where we don’t know anyone……it was so easy! Everyone was friendly, welcoming and I was hooked! Met one nice gal, then another and another. Meeting more amazing women all the time, having such fun experiences regularly. My social calendar is booked and my heart is full because I took a chance………..and I found BAGS!

I lived in France for a dozen years before relocating back to the USA. A cooking contest addict, I appeared on Master Chef, have cooked for Paula Deen and host an online show “Chat ‘n Dish”. A retired Marketing Director, I now spend my time bouncing from BAGS activity to activity, spoiling my two grandkids, bitching about how much my two dogs shed, and wishing I could see my adult kids more often :)

My goals for 2023 include entertaining more, volunteering more and meeting more BAGS members!

I have held many titles and names in my 6+ decades: Wendy Fels, BAGS Butterfly of the Month has to be my favorite!

I was born a Hoosier, native of Indiana , but grew up in England in the sixties. I danced with Paul McCartney's younger sister while my mom waited with Paul McCartney's mom for class to finish in Liverpool. My family moved back to Indiana and I raised my four kids in Brown County, Indiana where I owned a flower shop.

Five years ago I reconnected with a High School boyfriend. We move to Bradenton to fulfill a life long dream to live by the beach!

We met, married and found our forever home on Anna Maria Island, "PARADISE." I had no girlfriends here, unless some of my friends would travel here to Florida to see me. One day I saw a post on nextdoor.com about BAGS. In September of 2021, I attended my first event. I walked alone into 88 Live and was greeted at the door by Nancy Armbruster, the host for the event. I quickly blended in with smiling faces, friendly chats and dancing at a wonderful venue with great nibbles and cocktails.

I was hooked and excited that I found friends my own age, that enjoyed the activities that I enjoyed. I try to do at least three events a week so I can meet up with my girlfriends and do something for me. I am so grateful and appreciative of BAGS, having to help me evolve into this stage of my life.

Hi, I’m Glenda Craddock, the Founder of BAGS. I’m honored to be the BAGS Butterfly for July 2022! I’m especially excited because July 2022 marks the one-year anniversary of BAGS! WOW! It has been a whirlwind of a year!

I’m often asked how I came up with the idea for BAGS and how I got it started. I moved here from South Carolina to live with and help care for my parents. After 2 years, my parents & I sold our houses and bought a home in Palmetto. I knew absolutely nothing about Palmetto or Bradenton other than it was across the Skyway Bridge from Pinellas County where I grew up. My siblings and longtime friends all live in Pinellas County but with my Father’s decline in health, it was time to keep my social life close to home.

I joined a couple of Facebook Groups in hopes of attending fun events and meeting new people. I quickly found that there wasn’t really a whole lot of fun things being organized by anyone on these pages and when there was, it was mostly young women in their 20’s & 30’s. That’s fantastic but I wanted to make connections with women that understood the challenges and rewards of being in our “Golden Years.” So, I decided to start my own group and BAGS was born! I created the Facebook page in late May of 2021, published it in June and by early July of 2021, I organized three “Kick Off Meet & Greets.” I engaged in conversation on the FB Page and began building a team of members that wanted to also join in organizing fun events for women 50 & over. In a nutshell, I woke a sleeping giant I did not know existed. I never knew there were so many women my age that were yearning for friendships and a social life in this beautiful paradise we live in. We quickly outgrew the Facebook Page for organizing events, averaging 50+ events per month. It was not sustainable, and we needed a better way to manage these events and meet the needs of our members. In January of 2022, we launched our beautiful website exclusive to BAGS subscribed members!

I am so proud to be a part of this group! Each and every member & Event Organizer has helped shape this fabulous group and the service we provide. Our members are the best of the best and their love for this group and our community is genuine and true. The positivity and support for other women is refreshing! Giving back to our community brings us full circle and adds purpose to our lives. The friendships and positive feedback are what keeps me going!

Thank you for your love and continued support!

My name is Charlene Johnson, and I am the Director of Community Outreach for BAGS. As a child I lived in Pennsylvania, New York and Florida. In the 6th grade we moved to Crothersville Indiana where I lived for 9 years before I moved to Seymour, Indiana. In High School I was very active in sports. I played volleyball, basketball, softball and ran track. I received many awards and playing sports was my life!

I married the love of my life Ralph in 1978. We have 2 daughters, 3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons. My husband was a Farmer. We raised cows, hogs and a lot of crops from green beans, tomatoes, strawberries, sweet corn, field corn, soybeans, straw and hay. I also worked with customers from all over the world in the Automobile Industry for 26 years. It was very challenging dealing with all the different cultures, and I worked 24/7 until I retired. My oldest daughter Heather and her family still live in Seymour Indiana. My youngest daughter Brittany lives here with us with her 2 kids, Kenzi and Jace. My family is my life.

I joined bags in August of 2021 because my fantastic granddaughter, Kenzi, basically made me! She saw BAGS on Facebook and told me that I needed to join to make friends. I did not have any friends here in Florida. I had lived in Florida for 7 years and did not have a single person that I could call a friend. I told Kenzi I did not need any friends and that I was okay being by myself and my family. A few days later, Kenzi ran across BAGS on Facebook again and told me that I better sign up or she would do it for me! I told her no again but as the night went on, I thought about it and knew she would do it if I didn't so I signed up!

My 1st event was at Ferraro's Italian Grille in Parrish. I was scared to death and stayed out in the parking lot for a long time, and I was the last one to go in. When I finally went inside, I found a group of smiling ladies and sat next to Glenda. As it turned out, it was the 1st time for a lot of the ladies, so I was not alone. Having the courage to go into that meet & greet was the best thing I ever did! I have met so many amazing ladies and I have come out of my shell. I used to be a very quiet, shy person and never wanted to do anything. Yes, I know many of you don't believe this, but it is true! I was bullied in my younger years, so I put myself behind a brick wall. I never thought I needed friends and kept to myself. Now I know we all need friends!

Many of you know that I love volunteering and helping others in need. This is something I participated in with my grandbabies before joining BAGS. It brings me so much joy! I volunteer for organizations such as Mothers Helping Mothers, One More Child, Restore Global, Hungers Ends, The Blessing Bag Project, Downtown Ministry, and whatever else I can get into. I also love participating in the BAGS Philanthropy projects by helping local Nursing Homes and working with the residents. This has always been a passion of mine and the joy it brings to them will just make your heart feel so full.

As the Director of Community Outreach for BAGS, I organize and host many volunteer opportunities and encourage all members to join me and add purpose to your life! Please feel free to reach out to me by email at outreach@bags50.com for any questions or to submit a volunteer opportunity or non-profit event that you feel may be a good fit for BAGS.

It’s an honor to be chosen as BAGS butterfly 🦋 for the month of May! I have been involved with BAGS since the beginning, in July 2021. During our first Meet & Greet, Glenda asked me to become an Event Organizer. I didn’t even hesitate and agreed to be the first Event Organizer serving West Bradenton, and Anna Maria Island. I moved to Anna Maria Island in 2016, and I hadn’t met many girlfriends. This was my opportunity to spread my wings and be adventuresome!

I’ve been known to be a social butterfly, and with BAGS, I saw the strong need for other women like myself, who were looking for some adventure and new friendship. I had to spread the news fast about BAGS, and being a member of Nextdoor Neighbor, I posted about this new and exciting group for women over 50, and before you knew it our membership exploded! The word spread fast throughout all the communities in Manatee County and Sarasota.

This new role for me in organizing events was both challenging and exciting and I went into this full steam ahead. Before you knew it, BAGS social calendars were filling up! I began meeting so many new girlfriends in the area, my heart was overwhelmed. To see BAGS grow in members and expand in so many ways has been truly amazing! Thank you everyone for your friendships, support and love. This has truly changed my world for the better!

Thanks BAGS🦋

My name is Karen Blaine. I was born in the Philippines and adopted the day I was born by a Navy couple. I was brought to the United States and became a citizen when I was just a baby. I don’t know much about the Philippines but one day I would like to do an ancestry and learn about my background! My adoptive parents are my real parents but now that I have my own children, I believe I should get some background information for a medical history and it would be neat to learn if I have brothers or sisters.

Since I was a Navy brat, as a kid we moved a lot. Meeting new friends was a challenge in itself. Being shy as a kid was the biggest challenge that followed me through adulthood! I am learning to crawl out of my shell and I do believe it was due to this wonderful group of such positive, free spirited ladies!  I am a very quiet person and meeting people. doesn’t come easily to me and my anxiety can get the best of me. to just meet anyone! In fact if you approached me and asked a simple question, my mind would go blank, my stomach would start turning, and my anxiety would get the best of me. So, going out to meet girlfriends was not something I would even think about doing!

That brings me to why this group is so dear to me! Others may think it’s just another ladies group but that couldn’t be more WRONG! This group not only helped me tackle my fear in speaking in public, but I'm learning to approach & meet new girlfriends with confidence! Having friends has been such a need in my life! Fast forward to now, I have met so many vivacious, fun loving, positive, upbeat ladies it truly makes my heart smile. Having positive & supportive friends is what we need! It's not just meeting up with ladies to do things, about adventure and doing things or going places we might not of wanted to do by ourselves. Being around positive surroundings and women brings inspiration, motivation and powerful friendships.

I stand behind the BAGS Vision & Mission. Being a butterfly is all about Change, Transformation, Hope, & Positivity!

I also want to thank Nancy Armbruster, who I met when I was working in the ER at Blake Hospital. I truly believe God sent her to me. HE knew what I would be facing in the future, and the need of supportive friends was something that would lift my spirits. Because of her loving insistence, I took that leap of faith. So can you!

Hi, my name is Arleen and I have been with the BAGS group since Sept., 2021.

I moved here in 1988 from New Jersey with my Husband and Daughter. We wanted sunshine and wanted to be close to some family members. I worked in Sales in the New York metro area prior to the move to Florida.

In 2020 my part time job ended and I found it challenging to stay active and connected.

I am blessed that my Daughter, Lori and her husband Nat along with my Grandkids, Giannia 11, Nick 23, and Christopher 26 are close by and I get to spend time with them.

Then in Sept. 2021, my Daughter was introduced to BAGS from Karen Blaine. I jumped right in and joined this amazing group of women.

I am so thankful to Glenda, Celeste, Charlene and all the EO s and others that work so diligently, planning events.

I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you and finding out your Florida story.

Thank you ladies,

I moved here in mid-July 2021 after living in California for the last 36 years. I am originally from a small town an hour southwest of Pittsburgh, PA called Greensburg. 2020 was a difficult year for everyone. In the latter part of 2020, my relationship with my husband became unexpectedly challenging. Fast forward to 2021, I turned 65 and in June, retired from a 43-year nursing career. It was supposed to be the year my hubby and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary, (22 years together) and transitioned to Florida to be closer to some of our family after raising our 2 grandsons for the last 9 years. (They are now 20 and 21 and out on their own). As we all know, life has a way of throwing us curveballs. I found myself transitioning to Florida without the man I thought was my forever partner and I am greatly saddened by this. I am blessed that I have 2 of my sisters and their families here but my sisters work and have their own family responsibilities. After unpacking and working to get settled, (and frankly got tired of unpacking and working), I had a lot of free time on my hands.

One day while scrolling through FB I bumped into the BAGS website. Intrigued, I thought this could be something I would enjoy getting involved in. I applied to join and shortly, was notified that I was accepted. Excited, I signed up for every event I could, (really). Though nervous and stepping outside of my comfort zone, I attended my 1st meet and greet at the Ellenton Outlet Mall. I met many wonderful women that day and as they say the rest is history. Looking back over the many photos I have of the events I have been involved in and attended, my heart is full. I have done so much, participated in volunteer opportunities, (important to me), meet/greets, breakfast, lunches, dinners out, walks in gardens, parks and on the beaches, kayaking, boat rides, attended movies, parties, the theater, live music venues, danced, (gotta dance), impromptu events, holiday light touring, rum tasting and expressed my artistic side making gingerbread houses, Halloween headbands/costumes, porch leaners in craft classes and on/on.

Above all this and most importantly, I have met so many amazing, wonderful, talented women/people who have become friends. I am looking forward to many more events and continuing to meet & make new friends while continuing to develop the friendships I have gained. I am on the raw edge of healing from the recent unexpected twist to my life events. My participation in BAGS has given me a sense of connection and community which I love. This sense of connection, of community will be I am sure an integral part of my healing journey and growth. A heartfelt THANK YOU to Glenda for bringing your vision of BAGS to fruition. THANK YOU to all of the Admin Team and EO’s for all you do to organize events and make things happen. YOU ALL ROCK!!!

I moved from Massachusetts to Florida with a job transfer a year after the death of my father (I had lost my mother six years previous). My 3 sons had moved out and I was not comfortable with winter as I had a complete shoulder replacement and could not shovel and was tired of the 2-hour commute to work. I wanted sunshine, beaches and the gulf area seemed perfect and on February 24, 2020 with an air mattress and boxes I drove south and moved into my new home. I sold my furniture up north with the idea of buying furniture here. I started work at Ringling College of Art and Design on February 27th. Mid-March my youngest son came with his girlfriend on spring break from college and we began to see the world changing with cancelled flights, masks, food shortages etc. It took a couple weeks to get his girlfriend back to Wisconsin. He had a summer job in New Hampshire where he would be staying with friends. He left in May and drove north- that’s when the loneliness set in. I worked alone and lived alone and my mental health was deteriorating as I had not made any friends and my one family member was over an hour away and has 3 children.

The college reopened in September and I had met two neighbors, but there was no socialization. I was on Facebook and this group called “Bags- Bradenton area girlfriends” popped up – and I looked – I was immediately intrigued and began to look at events. There were two on the same day, one was a meet and greet at the Ellenton Mall, and the second was a walk-through Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota- so outside was my choice and a great one. I was greeted outside and received a name tag which made me “one of” and a sense of belonging began. I met several women walking and talking through the gorgeous gardens and I knew this was where I belonged. The philosophy of Bags also intrigued me as Glenda’s vision of philanthropy was something close to my heart. As a survivor of domestic violence, and raising my 3 sons alone for over 21 years we have lived the philosophy that everyone is on the center of a ladder always climbing, and the way we climb higher is by reaching a hand down to help those below us – not always financially, but with time and compassion as well.

I have met so many amazing women, and came out of my chrysalis to try new things. My hours at work are demanding but I have tried new things, crafts with Karen and Danielle, Habitat for Heroes with Tammy and Andre, Greenbriar packaging and labelling for residents, wrapping gifts with Blessing Bags, several meet and greets and outdoor picnics, Selby Gardens, dinners and meeting Celeste and many others, Sarasota Car Museum Motown music, Gingerbread houses and so many laughs which I had not had in a very long time. Now transformed to “BAGS- Beautiful Aging Girlfriends” and going to a website. I know everyone who seeks friendship and to not be alone now has a place. I am actually excited about retiring in a few years as I know my life will be full.

Hello! I’m Jan White and I moved to Lakewood Ranch 5 months ago from Lexington, VA with the hope of getting a fresh start after the untimely fatal accident of my husband of 58 years. My son bought this beautiful house for his retirement, but is staying in Santa Barbara, so he offered it to me. If I find Florida isn’t a good fit, my daughter wants me to move closer to her in NJ. I have never been to the gulf side of Florida, so this is all new to me and the first time I have ever been alone. My kids helped me move in and celebrate my birthday, then it was time for them to leave.

While I was waiting for neighbors to rush over with banana bread and cookies, I realized this was an established neighborhood and that probably wasn’t going to happen, although I have since been invited to join their book club. I was full of excitement and anxiety and maybe a bit overwhelmed. I lost my close friend shortly before my move, so I couldn’t call her for encouragement. The lack of communication with others prompted me to start up conversations with the pool and yard guys.

But then I found BAGS! Glenda’s purpose for starting this group was spot on for me and I can’t thank her and the other amazing team members enough for what they do for this awesome group of ladies. I have been to the beaches, but I’m still trying to find my way around the area. With BAGS I have been able to visit places I want to see, eat and drink at new restaurants, hike and picnic at beautiful parks and explore my artistic side at the craft events. None of these would I enjoy doing alone. I met Kerri at my first Meet and Greet and she drove me to our first event at Selby’s Botanical Gardens. We then ran into each other at church later. The social side of the group is definitely fun, but with the addition of the philanthropic projects you feel a sense of complete satisfaction. I joined Karen’s group to see the amazing Florida Manatees. I love them! I am in the BAGS 70+ group and have met some wonderful ladies at our lunches. I’m sure my friendships with them and all the others I have made will continue.

One thing I have learned the hard way is not to take life for granted! In the blink of an eye everything can change. So, I enjoy each day and love my family and friends including “Beautifully Aging Girlfriends”. I only wish I could still do the wild and crazy things the “50 and 60 somethings” do in this group!

Hello, I’m Jeanne Toby. My husband, daughter and I moved to Bradenton, FL. in October 2020. The only people that we know that live in Bradenton are my husband’s aunt and uncle. They are snowbirds so they’re only here during the winter months. We chose to move here because we’ve been visiting for the last 7 to 8 years and loved the area. We also chose to move here because I had been laid off from my corporate job of 25 years. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise!

After 7 months of spending time only with my husband and daughter, I decided that it was time to find myself some new friends. I turned to Facebook and joined a women’s group, but I noticed that there were a lot of younger women with small children. Also, younger women wanting to go to the clubs and that really wasn’t for me at this point in my life. While scrolling through the comments of this group, I saw a link to a group called BAGS that was for women 50 and older. I immediately joined and was super excited! BAGS was very new and I missed the first Meet & Greet because I was a little bit nervous about going by myself. The second Meet & Greet was posted and I decided I was going to go.  I’m not going to lie, I kept going back-and-forth with should I go or should I not go? I mentioned to my husband and daughter that I was thinking of not going and they both said, “Why are you not going? You need friends and you keep talking about this!” So, I found my courage and I went to BAGS second Meet & Greet Kickoff! When I walked in, I was greeted with the most caring souls! Their faces were filled with smiles. These women were so welcoming, and I thought to myself, “Gosh I’m so glad I did this!”

I signed up for pretty much every single event for the next month and boy was I having fun! I’ve met some amazing ladies who I am now very close with and I continue to meet new friends. Yay! Everyone is kind, accepting and looking for the same things…. friendship, closeness and fun! If I had to do it all over again, I absolutely would not have missed the first Meet & Greet. If you’re in this group watching and you haven’t gone to a Meet & Greet yet, don’t be shy and GO! Everyone will welcome you with open arms. Trust me, I’m proof!

I can’t thank Glenda enough for starting this group and giving us all a place to create wonderful friendships and feel like we’re HOME. Thank you to all the Event Organizers! You are all a gift and changing people’s lives in such a good way! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Sending you all Love and Light!

We hope you enjoy reading about Member Butterflies and their stories!
